Want to be smarter? Think Nonsense
Category: My tuppence | 13th Oct 2009
A superb article in the New York Times this week, highlighted what creatives have known for ages, namely that if you want to make the most of your brain, you need to free yourself from purely logical thinking.
In a nutshell (and probably rather over simplified), the theory goes that when put a situation that makes no sense, the brain gets much more active in finding links to things that do make sense to it. And so, in essence, you have more ideas.
So next time you want to get to grips with a tough problem, then umbrella catfish trouser suit on fire.
