IAB launches online video advertising guidelines
Category: Sector focus | 30th Apr 2009
New guidelines or online video advertising have been launched by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), the trade association for digital marketing in the UK.
The IAB's Video Council, which consists of broadcasters, publishers, agencies and networks, has developed the new guidelines which cover all formats of online video advertising so that usage is standardised and growth is promoted.
"Online video consumption is through the roof, yet marketers still need further persuading of its huge potential as an advertising channel," commented Jack Wallington, senior programmes manager of the IAB.
He added that the new guidelines will help assure marketers that online video "is where their budgets should go".
The IAB Video Council has also launched an educational online resource and handbook to take marketers through each process in carrying out an effective video advertising campaign.
Earlier this month, the IAB launched the Mobile Advertising Innovator Award 2009.
It is the first award specifically developed for the mobile industry by the IAB.
