Digg to introduce new ad platform
Category: Sector focus | 05th Jun 2009
Digg has announced it is to roll out a new advertising platform - Digg Adds.
They will appear alongside stories in the river and will give marketers increased control over which advertisements are displayed on Digg, according to the company.
Blogger mmaser, writing for the company, explained: "The more an ad is Dugg, the less the advertiser will have to pay. Conversely the more an ad is buried, the more the advertiser is charged, pricing it out of the system."
The project will be introduced as a pilot in a few months.
It will work as an evolving project as the firm learns more about Digg's community and they make changes.
The company is currently working with advertisers in developing the system in its early stages.
Users can share content from anywhere on the internet on Digg and they can vote on what they consider to be the best on the site.
